According to a VA report “…telehealth is the forerunner of a wider vision in which the relationship between patients and the healthcare system is changed with the full realization of the “connected patient”…”

Smart home and environmental control technology widens that vision of the “connected patient” to be inclusive of a 24/7 presence between the provider and patient.  This communication pipeline works asymmetrically to allow two-way communication securely between veteran and providers while allowing for ease of use thus we hypothesize an increase in patient appointment participation and attendance.

For the veterans living in rural areas and due to the social distancing guidance by the CDC,  the Department of veteran affairs has become hypervigilant in reducing contact rates allowing for conceptual data to be gathered during this unprecedented increase in users.

Having the ability to remotely monitor patients and have them actively input health data will potentially allow for improvement of healthcare outcomes along with earlier treatment for possible issues.

Our platform consists of a configurable management tool by — allowing secure communication of personal health-related data encapsulated in a skill/Application that can be accessed through smart home devices, smartphones both iPhone and Android, and more specifically voice and eye recognition integration for patients with spinal cord injuries diseases and disorders, TBI, ALS, MS, etc.

By leveraging legacy smart home hardware and software with healthcare apps we perceive the capacity to make an easier more accurate diagnosis using big data to bring in contextual data combined with patient data increases the ability to help with diagnosis

Catching problems quickly by allowing the patient to monitor their own issues and share that information with providers are potentially able to catch a health problem early enough to treat. Capability to provide real-time data on vital patient measurements through remote patient monitoring smart devices i.e. Fitbit style watch or device worn on the body. It also inputs measurements manually for blood pressure, heart rate, o2 range.
